She is not renowned for either her wit or her personality.

Waists went lower, skirts revealing more leg, the traditional βflapperβ dress epitomises the era. Brassieres came βinβ but were designed to flatten the bust. Hair was worn short sometimes with βspitβ curls. The make up of the period was for bright lip-stick often with bow lips, pale complexions, dark heavily made up eyes and colourful nail varnish.
Accessories might include small purse bags, Art Deco or Egyptian style jewellery, feather boas, ornate supper shoes, opera coats, tassels, turbans, cigarette holders and cases and gloves (full length gloves were only worn with long dresses).
Menswear was still predominantly very formal. Dinner suits and jackets (usually black, white or velvet), tails, bow ties, with wing collar shirts, cravats, cummerbunds and gloves would usually have been worn. The hair was often worn βslickedβ down with short βpencilβ moustaches. Some more fashionable men later in the twenties began adopting brighter ties, lighter suits, softer hats, wider trousers (the Oxford Bag) and even suede shoes.
